The Guardian Knight is a tank.  He trades offense for high survivability.

Challenge (6th): LI.  Target can only do 1 point of damage until he has made a melee attack against the Guardian. (re-write of Quip).
Take the Blast (7th): If the Guardian is targeted by a damaging area-of-effect effect, he can call an immediate counter of the effect.  He still takes the damage and the effects, but he is the only one.
Remain Standing (10th): This ability must be put up in advance to be effective... it is not an immediate counter like Life Support.  The Guardian does not go unconscious due to damage.  When he has taken enough damage that he would normally die, instead, he is healed to exactly half of his life points to death.  If this is activated, the Guardian cannot use 10th level SAS (even from items) for the rest of the combat.
Unstoppable Defense (10th): The Guardian can give himself a +5 bonus to his armor.

If IFGS could just get rid of the games so it could focus on sustaining its own bureaucracy... we would finally be living the Dream.

We've been tossing a sort of reverse-Evade around as a possible Knight ability (or magic item exotic effect). It's very Guardian-appropriate:

Intercept (7th): LI. The Guardian may intercept a physical attack, missile, or harmful single-target spell directed at another character within 10 feet of the interceptor. The player must call “Intercept” and roleplay moving between the attacker and the target. The interceptor suffers all damage and effects of the intercepted attack or spell, as modified by their own defenses.

The ability can be used to intercept up to 4 points/level of the effect in damage, and LI spell of level equal or less than the Intercept level of effect, or attacks which do not have an associated LI or damage, like Killing Attack.

Well, we considered including it in the Bluebook update--had it priced and everything--but we know how you feel about adding new powers in there....

(Actually we dropped it for several reasons--time, wanting more playtesting first, and because it didn't really belong in a "fix stuff" BB revision. It'll be in the optional rules compilation David's putting together, I'm sure, and I'll be including it in my next few games.)
